Scientists Identify 45 Rocky Exoplanets as Top Candidates for Alien Life Search

A Cornell University-led study has refined the search for extraterrestrial life by highlighting 45 potentially habitable rocky exoplanets, including Proxima Centauri b and four planets orbiting TRAPPIST-1. Focusing on planets within their stars' habitable zones and no more than twice Earth's size, this study narrows down targets from over 6,000 known exoplanets, enabling more efficient use of observational resources. Upcoming telescope missions, such as NASA's James Webb Space Telescope, will prioritize these planets to investigate their surface conditions and potential for life.
