Ford Recalls 254,640 SUVs Over Software Glitch Affecting Rearview Cameras

Ford Motor is recalling 254,640 SUVs from 2021 to 2025 models including Lincoln and Ford Explorer due to a software defect in the Image Processing Module A (IPMA) that can disable rearview cameras and driver-assistance features. This defect poses safety risks by reducing driver visibility and disabling features like pre-collision assist and lane-keeping assist. Ford will deploy over-the-air software updates free of charge, with owner notifications beginning March 30, 2026, signaling a proactive approach to vehicle safety and customer communication.
