Cloud Providers File EU Antitrust Complaint Over Broadcom's VMware Partner Program Cuts

A coalition of cloud service providers, led by CISPE, has formally filed an antitrust complaint with the European Commission challenging Broadcom's closure of VMware's Cloud Service Provider partner program and its replacement with an invite-only model. This change reduces the partner base drastically—from over 4,000 to less than 30 in major markets—potentially limiting market competition and customer options. The EU regulator will now consider whether to impose interim measures or investigate Broadcom’s actions, which could reshape partnerships in the cloud service industry.
