Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli will perform a free concert on April 18, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. in Mexico City’s Zócalo to celebrate the 30th anniversary of his album "Romanza," according to multiple reports from El Financiero. The event is expected to draw large crowds and will include guest performances by Los Ángeles Azules and Ximena Sariñana, accompanied by the Sinfónica del Palacio de Minería.
The concert is part of Bocelli’s Romanza Tour and is organized by Banco Plata, highlighting the lasting influence of the 1996 album, which played a major role in his rise to international fame, particularly in Latin America and Europe. "Romanza" is considered a milestone in contemporary lyrical pop music, as noted by El Financiero.
Due to the expected attendance, Mexico City authorities will implement extensive traffic controls including temporary closures of major streets such as José María Pino Suárez, 20 de Noviembre, and Venustiano Carranza near the Zócalo. Organizers recommend the use of public transportation, like nearby Metro and Metrobús stations, to avoid traffic disruptions and ensure smooth access to the venue.
For those unable to attend in person, the concert will be broadcast live on the Mexican television network Las Estrellas and streaming platform VIX Premium. This will provide wider access and allow fans nationwide to experience the event remotely.
Officials advise arriving at least an hour before the start to accommodate pedestrian entrances and security checks. As the event unfolds, close attention to updates on traffic management and public transit schedules will be essential for attendees.
